Getting Started

Connecting to the Server

1. Download the MOD Preset — Altis Frontier MOD Preset (.html) — drag and drop it into the Arma3 Launcher window to register all required MODs at once. Or use Launcher → MODS → PRESET → IMPORT.
2. Find the Server — In the Launcher SERVERS tab, search for Altis Frontier Exile PVE and connect. Max 30 players, map is Altis.

On first connect, you'll receive randomized starter gear. Supplies are minimal, so head to a trader first.

First Steps

1. Check your XM8 — Press key 6 to open the tablet. It's the hub for all server operations.
2. Head to a Trader — There's a trader zone near your spawn. Buy basic weapons, ammo, and food. Pop-Tab is the currency.

Survival Tips

• Reload speed is 3x normal. Weapons load faster than you'd expect.
• Ladder climbing is 4x, swimming is 5x faster. Movement is quicker than it looks.
• Vehicle collision damage is reduced to 0.25x. Don't worry too much about bumps.
• After 17:00 in-game, time skips to 09:00 automatically. No need for night gear.
• CPR revive works within 6m of a downed teammate. Full health restored.
• With Duct Tape, you can summon up to 5 AI companions. Solo players welcome.

FAQ

XM8 won't open

Check that Exile_Item_XM8 is in your inventory. Key 6 switches to FreeCam during build mode — exit build mode first.

Can't place buildings

Make sure you're inside your territory range. Space only works when placement is valid. There's a 2-second cooldown between placements.

Vehicle disappeared

If it was stored in Virtual Garage, use Vehicle Recall from Mobile XM8 to respawn it. Unstored vehicles may be lost on server restart.

Can't find an item at the trader

Dealers are split by category. Weapons → Armory, vehicles → Vehicles, aircraft → Aircraft.

Can't summon AI companions

Summoning is blocked while in a vehicle or in combat. Dismount first, then use Duct Tape. You're also capped at 5 companions.
